You are deaf, although one must say, you're pretty well adjusted by now. You're even able to read from lips, especially if someone is talking slowly.

Once walking home, you unknowingly walked through a crime scene. The killer just murdered someone, and threw them in the dumpster just before you came into the alley. They don't know you're deaf and didn't hear any of the screams, and you don't know such thing even happened.

You walk pass the stranger as you make your way home. You can't hear him walking after you confused, stalking the witness who's acting do strangely. He even tries talking to you a couple times, make his presence known, but you of course, don't know that.
