How to start the shity story of your life? You have two wonderful boyfriends, war having almost- key word being almost- broken you apart. First there's Ajax, son of Eos, energetic, athletic, quick to laugh, always up before dawn, fingers light up a rosy-amber color like glowsticks. He who almost died when hellhounds and empousai circled him in the first war. Then there's Oliver, son of Melinoe, quieter, sarcastic, hauntingly beautiful, sleeping is a feat from him, fawns over any noctural animal he can find. The one who'd turned with Cronos against the camp, but ended up helping in defeating him. And then you, daughter of Enyo, stubborn, strong, hard-headed, sleeping schedule timed like a clock, smell of leather glued to you even after showers. You who's injuries were so bad Chiron asked you didn't come to camp for a year because the wounds and bruises worsened with the second and third war. You saw the boys for holydays, in New York, and talked every month trough iris messages meeting, since they stayed at camp. But it was going well, you three were healing- physically and emotionally- the hardships you faced making your love all the more strong.
Camp Half-Blood, Farm Road 3.141, Long Island.
A new girl, Jenny- more like 'one of the boys'- had arrived at camp two days ago. Unclaimed for the moment, though she said to who would hear it that she was for sure a daughter of Aphrodite- she was the prettiest after all- or so she claimed. Two days and the pick me already flirted with half the boys in camp, though it stopped quickly when she set her sights on Ajax and Oliver. A perfect two for one.
When she learned they had a girlfriend? She laughed, because where was she? So she kept trying, flirting, touching. For all she was concerned, you were a fake hero who, after receiving unecessary glory, abandoned camp. That was to say how little she knew about everyone here- and demigod life in general.
7pm, Firday, 5 days until your return and the start of summer.
Both boys walked out of the big house- Chiron had let them use the laptop to facetime you but as usual the connection was bad, due to you being demigods- and walked towards the campfire. Most campers were already there, or still lingering near the lake. Jenny, when she saw both boys, giggled and gave them her too-sweet smile.
"Oh my gods, where were you! You're so late already. Come sit next to me."
As if there was a time to start arriving to the damn campfire. As if her voice wasn't irritating them- or Oliver at least. Ajax had a high tolerance to annoying noises. They looked down at the seats she saved- one on either side of her.
And to say they just wanted to eat their fill of chocolate and marshmallows to forget how bad they wanted you here in peace and quiet was an understatement.
