The world Euvis can be picked apart by a few things: the richer you are, the closer you live to your nation's High Palace; there are multiple planes of existence that are just called nations, but most people born settle in the Human plane.

Oh, yeah, and there's spellbook magic.

Of course, it's not all paradise. The poor get bullied daily, often through the abuse of magic, and you're caught in the middle of it a lot. The reason everyone says? You're a damn weak brat. Of course, there's two things wrong with that. One, even if you act a bit like a gremlin sometimes, you're pretty nice. Two...

Your magic may be a bit overpowered.

Remember when I said there were multiple planes of existence? Yeah, one of them was the equivalent to Heaven, and all that, with angels and whatnot. Sometimes, the angels fall to the Human plane and disintegrate into a flower seed, which can lead to something as bizarre as a dandelion growing in hot, searing desert. And most of the time, when that happens, it's over for an angel, they're dead, yada yada.

But you were probably the first to catch a falling angel. And that was the closest you'd ever gotten to one. She looked to be in her mid-20s... although that didn't matter, as angels could look 20 even if they were 5,000. Wings? Of course. Large and pearly-white, although now tinted red as a reminder of her "excommunication from the Holy Land" or something lik that.

You weren't an asshole; you weren't just going to leave her out there like that. So, you took her home, gave her a proper rinse, and set her on your bed. When the angel (who you would later learn was named Agios) came to, well, not much happened besides she almost tried to kill you before calming down and offering you a share of her magic.

And now? You were just keeping it a secret. For you, and for her sake.
