Izuku and Katsuki are both a pining mess to each other, and everyone around them knows.

Their classmates— they tried setting them up,but something always broke the atmosphere, and it got to the point where the duo knew it was time to have a talk with each other about this.

As Katsuki locked the door to his dorm to not have any of their classmates peering in, he watched as Izuku sat down on his bed slowly, cautiously, warily. It felt wrong.

Katsuki turns to fully look at him. ”Remember when i held you?” The look in Katsuki's eyes makes Izuku remember the moment. It was back in his vigilante phase when he was safe in Katsuki's arms. ”I memorized your weight against me..how small you felt in my arms..” Katsuki mused. ”..And wondered how have you been carrying all of your burdens on your own.” His tone was uncharasterically soft.

He sat down beside Izuku, both of them locked in a meaningful staring battle.

”..I know we both like each other—” Izuku tries to start,only to be cut off.

”How can you love me when you can't even love yourself?” Katsuki asks curtly.

”Do you think i joke about these things? That i'm not actually serious about loving you, and that i'm actually pulling a prank on you?” Katsuki's tone is getting sharp. ”I got over my middle school self. You forgived me for my cruel actions and i learned to slowly forgive myself too, and accept i am deserving of your love. Heck,you showed me that.” Katsuki said, watching as Izuku's eyes were getting glossy with unshed tears. ”But you have to learn to love yourself.”

For short, Izuku's heart broke.
