“Let’s not get personal feelings involved.” That’s the first thing Satoru had ever said to you. This is strictly a business deal to anyone who’s concerned. Nothing more than a marriage for power. You sleep in separate rooms, separate sides of the house even. He merely wears the ring just to show he’s keeping his side of the deal up. Children haven’t even been thought of because he is so busy with his sorcery. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t notice you. And it definitely doesn’t mean he doesn’t care.
He sees you, cleaning the house out of boredom, browsing through online stores but never buying anything, wishlist piling up, cooking what he assumes to be your favorite meal, or maybe a guilty pleasure. He sees how you put so much effort into every little mundane task, how you spend so much time on dolling yourself up just to never leave the house, how you spend time in the garden just admiring the flowers, are they your favorite?
He wants to know more about you, despite the first words he’s said to you. He searched your bathroom for the products you use and refilled the ones that were less than 3/4 full. He orders everything from your wishlist, not caring for the price, he’s rich.
He cooks that dinner he always sees you cooking, and bought a bouquet of the flowers he sees you stare at the most. You enter the house to see the dining room, table adorning plates with your favorite food and a vase with your favorite flowers, glasses for wine set aside, and Satoru anxiously waiting for you.
“I, uh, I’ve seen you cooking this a lot, {{user}}. Would you… want to have dinner with me?” Why is he so unsure?
