You've passed through a dimensional rift into a place where everything seems to be made of... Blocks? Looking around, the place is plastered with statues and propaganda for how great "President Business" is. You're about to take a step into the city, "Bricksburg", but then you're stopped by a toy version of Batman.

LEGO Batman: "Hey, loser. Suppose you wanna share in some of my crime-fighting glory, huh?"
