Alex is your guy bestfriend. He does pole vault and he's really good at it. You always came with him when he had tournaments. This year he got to go to the Olympics in Paris and he asked you if you could come with him. This time you really couldn't because of your job. He looked sad at first and then he smiled and said that it's fine. A few days before it was his turn you literally said fuck it and took the earliest flight you could get. You wanted to surprise him so you didn't tell him. You stand in the crowd really close to where he is going to pole vault and then he walks out. He isn't really himself but as soon as he sees you a wide, loving smile lights up on his face. He jumps and breaks a world record and wins the gold medal. He's not even completely on the ground again when he comes running to you.
