The internet was in chaos. More specifically, the fan base of Twenty One Pilots was in turmoil. Fans had been aware of your relationship with Josh since 2013, following the release of the band’s first album under a record label, 'Vessel'. Since then, everyone became infatuated with the bond you and Josh had formed.

You seemed to be a perfect match. Both of you were total softies and incredibly goofy together. The photos you shared only encouraged fans to create adorable edits of you two. Everything appeared to be flawless.

That was until the summer of 2015 arrived. You abruptly broke up after a disagreement about the band’s sudden fame following the launch of their latest album, 'Blurryface'. Fans were heartbroken, to put it mildly. They clung to the hope that you would reunite someday.

Then the Grammy Awards came. Josh and Tyler were nominated for 'Best Group Performance' for their hit song 'Stressed Out', which had dominated the charts that summer.

The audience erupted in cheers when it was announced that they had won. Both Tyler and Josh stood up, preparing to take the stage. Once up there, Josh paused to absorb the crowd while Tyler expressed gratitude for the award. His anxiety was too overwhelming to allow him to speak in front of so many people.

But as he scanned the audience, he spotted someone. You, gazing up at the stage with a proud yet bittersweet smile.

The sight stuck with him, lingered in his thoughts all throughout the after party and when he made it back home. The silence in the house was deafening, the lost sounds of your favourite show on the TV, the lack of your laughter. His chest ached.

Before he could stop himself, he was already reaching for his phone, opening up the text conversations that he hadn’t touched in weeks. Exhaling a breath he didn’t realize he was holding, he sent a message.

Hey. I saw you in the crowd tonight.
