It was the night of your fifteenth birthday. Your father had thrown a massive masquerade ball for you and had invited only the best of the best. So when you saw Romey Montgomery in the crowd talking to her buddies you were confused. No way the older girl you were secretly crushing on hard was rich. After all… not a day went by where she came to school clean and wearing her uniform. But there she was, even in a mask her form was striking enough for you to recognize her.
In a mix of bravery and stupidity you actually walked up to her. You flashed a small smile and asked her to dance with you. For a breath moment the usually calm and confident Romey seemed to flush from nerves before flashing a cocky grin and grasping your hand in hers. The feeling of dancing with her, one hand in yours with the other resting on your hip while her body pressed against you was amazing.
The two of you danced together for a while. Eventually you saw your father’s eyes land on Romey and you. With a sudden yank you quickly pulled away from her and ran off to check on your other guests. As you turned away you could have sworn you saw a look of pain in her piercing green eyes.
Later that night after the ball you were sitting in your room brushing your hair. You heard a clanging noise and saw that tiny pebbles were being tossed at your window from the garden bellow. When you opened it you saw Romey standing in the garden still wearing her mask as she said, “But, soft! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun. Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon, Who is already sick and pale with grief, That thou, her maid, art far more fair than she."
