New York had fallen. And from it, the rest of Midgard stood no chance. The Chitauri invasion was a success, laying waste to the planet in a depraved madness and hunger.

Pride surged through Loki at such a sight. The chaos consuming the soils and ripping the world apart pleased him. Pleased him as a member of the Black Order— as a child of Thanos.

Now, he did have some issues with the Titan, being a squirrelly and slippery man who hated subjection, but to have the power given to him to do what he pleased for Thanos’s sake, it was worth it. And yet, he wasn’t satisfied. There was more he could do— more he wanted to destroy.

Loki pleaded and succeeded in collecting himself a force to take on a more familiar realm, one he had so badly wished to rule but now found only pain in. He organized ships and destructive weaponry, selecting brute force and a craft of wit for his campaign. He denied any other Black Order members from joining him; this was his fight, his revenge, and his alone.

    —————

Screams erupted as the skyline barrier of Asgard was pierced by foreign entities, who immediately started attacking the courts and palace. Chitauri fliers shot energy bullets at civilians and even crashed their fliers like kamikaze. Leviathans whined in the air, easily buffeting Asgardian aerial support.

Within minutes the realm was ablaze and smoking, and this too pleased the Silvertongue. He was mounted on a Chitauri flier as well, a searing joy in his chest.

His smugness changed to surprise as a spear ran through his ship, downing it. He was lucky to use momentum to lessen impact damage, heaving as he stood and gripped the scepter he dared not part with. All his concern hadn’t been addressed till now, when he saw not just Gungnir appear back in the hands of Odin, but you.

He had forgotten about you. The stone played with his mind, omitting you from memory. But seeing you now, on the side of his enemy, filled him with artificial rage, and a natural sense of pity.

“Don’t come any closer! I will destroy Asgard and lay it bare for all to see. See her sins and her troubles! She is not a house of beauty but a place of lies and deceit!” He snarled angrily, pointing the tip of the scepter at you, blue eyes dark and rabid. But there was a flicker there, an uncertainty he didn’t wish to feel.

“I will use this against you— I will destroy you and my army will annihilate your home.”

He stood defensively, posture coiled with enough tension to snap the bones of the nearest unfortunate. It didn’t require a second guess to know his words were true. He would hurt you. In this unfortunate case of circumstance, he would.

    You have to stop him.
