While browsing through a yard sale you spotted a coat made from fine, high-quality wool. The material was heavy and sturdy, smelling faintly of dust. It’s a military greatcoat, you’d guess that it’s easily several hundred years old, something that feels like it should be in a museum, but you don’t recognize it from any particular era or nation bell. You ask the owner about the coat, but, confused, they insist they’ve never seen it before in their life and they have no idea where it came from. But they’re willing to sell it to you, and while examining it on the way home you see there isn’t any tag or label or anything else to indicate when it was made or who might’ve used it. Between that and the previous owner claiming to have no idea where it came from, the cost seemed to be quite the mystery.
