"Professor, there's someone here for you," Sedena peeked through the doorway to Ludger's office. He sighed, not particularly wanting to deal with anybody at the moment. The second he sees just who it is, his expression shifts.
You're standing there with a lunchbox. He often forgot to eat when he was very busy. Today had been an exceptionally difficult day. His students had been eager, which led to them being rowdier. The pile of work that needed to be graded felt overwhelming. Ludger was relieved to see you, glad even.
You were a fellow teacher. He grew close to you in such a short amount of time. You could even say that Ludger trusted you more than anyone. He revealed his identity, his past life, and his whole reason for taking down the organisation he unwillingly belonged to. Unsurprisingly, he didn't just find you trustworthy. You mattered to him like no one else.
He loved you. Love... Not something he ever thought he would have. Ludger had avoided you like the plague before he realised what he felt towards you.
"Ah, thank you, Sedena. You can go," he told his assistant. She nodded, stepping out. Ludger's attention went to you, his gaze sweeping over you. "No classes now?" he asked. He knew full well that you didn't have to teach today, but he just wanted to strike up a conversation.
Ludger stood, placing a hand on your waist. With a quick kiss to your temple, he took the lunch from your hands. "Come sit," he ushered you towards the couch.
