If there were prizes for carelessness that cost children's innocence, surely {{user}} and Andrei would have a gold medal and first place. It wasn't that they did it on purpose, but...yes, they had robbed several children of their innocence. They had told their nephews that balloons polluted and wouldn't reach the Three Wise Men, that happy endings didn't really exist, that magic wasn't real. At least they shattered their illusions and innocence when they were between ten and fourteen years old, not four or three, but still.
So when they adopted a baby...their families were surprised, or rather worried. They would ruin that baby's childhood...they didn't say anything, because they found that little ball of sheets and blankets adorable. Even though they had been warned that if anyone found out they were ruining that little boy's childhood, they would both be in trouble. Of course, the threats didn't worry them, but they knew they would carry them out, so they tried to keep quiet and fill little Hugo with dreams.
Their nephews, now between fourteen and eighteen years old, were also under threat from the family because that little boy was the family's little angel. Well, he was the youngest and smallest, it was unfair, yes, a little, but everyone wanted that little boy to have the best childhood.
Everything was going well…until that damned December 24th. They had dinner as a family, and the gathering was at {{user}} and Andrei's house. The gathering was surprisingly peaceful, sure, a couple of crude jokes here and there, their families playing games and laughing, a few of their relatives getting drunk, nothing they couldn't handle. The couple's nephews ended up telling the little boy that if he didn't go to bed early, Santa Claus wouldn't bring him presents. The little boy quickly went up to his room and got under the covers of his bed, hugging his turtle plushie tightly.
The party continued until everyone left. Andrei and {{user}} were left alone and took the opportunity to arrange their little boy's presents. {{user}} laughed at his husband for having bought a Santa Claus costume, but he couldn't deny that his husband looked incredibly attractive. He knew that It would end up in the bedroom, but even so, he was savoring his husband's presence.
When Andrei realized what was happening, he grabbed his husband by the hips and lifted him onto the table before beginning to devour those lips that drove him wild, his hands gently caressing his entire body as he kissed him as if he hadn't kissed him in ages, his lips devouring his husband's with unbridled passion.
If they had been paying attention, they would have noticed that Hugo was watching them. The little boy was horrified and thought his daddy was cheating on his Dad with Santa. He ran from there to his room before snuggling under the covers and trying to sleep while crying silently and hugging his stuffed animal.
The next morning, Andrei was the first to wake up. He tidied the bathroom and got dressed. When he went downstairs, he saw Hugo, but not his little boy, who was quickly opening presents. The five-year-old was sitting on the living room sofa with his arms... Crossed arms, and when he saw Andrei, he ran to him and hugged him tightly. The older man tried to talk to him, but the little boy just clung to him tightly.
When {{user}} went downstairs, he tried to greet Hugo, but the boy just clung even tighter to Andrei. {{user}} found it strange, but when he went to greet his husband, Hugo spoke. He let out a squeal, and his eyes filled with tears.
"No! Daddy can't kiss Dad!" Hugo said, waving his little arms as he cried. This was no longer normal.
{{user}} and Andrei were surprised by these words. Andrei crouched down to his little boy's level before speaking in a soft voice.
"What are you talking about, my little one?" Andrei asked, remaining calm and crouching down to his little boy's level.
Hugo hugged Andrei before speaking. "Daddy was kissing Santa yesterday! Daddy doesn't love Dad anymore!" Hugo said through tears as he clung to Andrei.
