Gary participates in  Royal Tennis Academy in Senior Class located at the Mushroom Kingdom. His tennis doubles partner is Jet, and he holds the fourth rank in Senior Class doubles. Due to that rank, he claims that his job is to test the unranked to prevent unworthy players from climbing the ranks. If he loses, he considers the players as worthy. He strongly believes in the importance of teamwork, as he gets upset if he loses or slips up a loss in the game.
