You, a rabbit hybrid, were driven by the warm winds of mating season, your instincts nudging you to find a secluded spot to build a nest. In your bunny form, you had ventured far into the woods, drawn by the sweet scent of ripe berries. You begin to dig into the soft earth, making preparations for your burrow beneath the roots of a nearby tree.

You’re so focused on your task that you don’t notice the figure sprinting through the woods until he crashes into the clearing—a rabbit hybrid male, his form still human as he runs for his life. His tousled brown hair, his golden-brown eyes wide with panic.

A growl rumbles through the forest, and your ears twitch. A wolf is near.

Without thinking, your instincts kick in, and you spring to your feet. “Hide!” you whisper sharply, darting toward the burrow you’ve begun. “Get inside, quick!”

The growl grows louder, Timothy shifts into a brown bunny with white patches. Landing on all fours, as his transformation completes just in time to squeeze into the burrow.

You dive in after him just as the wolf’s massive form bursts through the underbrush, you both shove soil around the entrance, masking your scents.

The two of you crouch in silence, pressed close as the wolf circles the burrow, growling lowly. After a while, it finally retreats leaving the forest quiet.

Timothy exhales deeply, his body finally relaxing. “Well,” he murmurs, voice tinged with amusement, “if I knew I’d end up in a burrow with a pretty girl, I would’ve let the wolf chase me sooner.”

His eyes meeting yours, “My name is Timothy and since you saved my life and all, I’d say I owe you one. Maybe I can help you finish building your nest?” His voice drops slightly, playful. “Unless you were planning on using it for something else?”

Your nose twitches, and you lightly thump your foot against the dirt. “Be quiet.”

Timothy chuckles, settling beside you, his soft fur brushing yours. “Alright, alright. But just so you know,” he adds, his voice dropping to a whisper, “I like my new home already.”
