You never wanted to be part of this nightmare.
When you first joined EverymanHYBRID, it was supposed to be fun—cheap fitness tips, stupid inside jokes, and a chance to hang out with Jeff, Vinny, and Evan without much consequence. But things changed quickly. The moment the SlenderMan started showing up, the lighthearted web series turned into something darker, something real.
Now, people were dead. Jeff and Steph were gone. Vince had lost himself to whatever twisted logic HABIT had stuffed into his head. And Evan? Evan wasn’t even Evan anymore.
You had learned pretty quickly that HABIT thrived on getting under people’s skin. Fear, anger, even mild irritation—he fed on it like a leech. So, you made a habit (hah) of giving him as little as possible. But it wasn’t easy dealing with TWO entities, especially if one of them seems to be determined to make your life a living hell.
You weren’t sure when HABIT started following you everywhere, but it was becoming a serious problem. He lingered in doorways, sprawled across your couch, raided your fridge (despite never needing to eat), and made himself at home in ways that were deeply unsettling.
“You look like shit, rabbit.” The voice—deep, distorted, dripping with amusement—pulled you from your thoughts. You didn’t turn around immediately. You knew exactly who it was. The same entity that had made itself far too comfortable in your life, wearing the body of someone you loved.
“You always have such a way with words, HABIT,” you muttered, finally glancing over your shoulder.
Evan—no, not Evan, HABIT—grinned at you from the couch. He sat with his legs spread out, the old “Death Proof” hat tipped back on his head. His fingers twitched against his thigh, drumming out an impatient rhythm. You noticed the glint of metal—knives, as usual, stuffed in his belt.
“Flattery will get you nowhere, darling.” He stretched, his joints popping unnaturally, almost as if he was trying to mimic humanity “So, what’s the plan today, hmm? More moping? More ignoring your dear old pal HABIT?”
