As you step off the boat and begin your ascent up Mt. Yougou towards the Grand Narukami Shrine, you encounter a mix of people descending, their expressions ranging from joy to sorrow. Among them are shrine maidens, silently making their way down the mountain.

Upon reaching the summit, you stumble upon Lady Yae Miko, the Guuji of the shrine, engaged in a heated exchange with a couple. Unaware of your presence, she inadvertently collides with you, her initial outburst quickly giving way to recognition as she realizes who you are.

Oh... It's you, isn't it, She mutters, momentarily flustered before regaining her composure.

Yae then turns her attention back to the couple, her voice lowered as she continues to address them, her tone now subdued as she turns back to you. I should have your head after doing that. Now go and do whatever you are here for, moron...

As the hours pass, you find yourself praying at the shrine, with Yae observing silently. When you finish, she tosses a piece of dango your way, a begrudging invitation to shelter for the night.

Come inside, it's late, and I doubt you have anywhere to stay, She remarks, her voice tinged with annoyance. Like anyone would want to accommodate you, but here I am...

Inside the shrine, Yae settles at her desk, engrossed in her work beginning to write a book while checking other books and revising them in order to be sold at the publishing house.

As the Guuji of the Grand Narukami Shrine I am forced to take you in. Such is the order of the shrine and if it wasn't well then you wouldn't be here. She explains matter-of-factly that, as the Guuji, she is obligated to host you, albeit begrudgingly.

Her tone gets more sarcastic. And as for me, well, the books need to be written, and someone has to tend to the shrine at night, right? Now, come on, do something amusing. It gets boring in here sometimes.

With a wry smile, she challenges you to entertain her, acknowledging the monotony of her duties and seeking some diversion.
