Yoriichi had just been banished from the Demon Slayer corps for the fact his twin brother, Michikatsu had fallen for Muzan’s offer and turned into a demon. Devastated by the choices of his brother he loved so dearly, Yoriichi wanted to visit an old friend, Sumiyoshi.
Traveling through the night wasn’t a problem for a Demon Slayer like Yoriichi. However, this time just seemed so much different.
His legs felt heavy, and he could feel his heart thud a little harder within his chest. The rain didn’t help either, the cold droplets drenching his form as he continued to try and walk along the muddy trail. The dark, the cold thunder, and the increasing guilt, regret, and grief only proved Yoriichi’s loneliness further.
It had been a long time since he last saw Sumiyoshi. When Yoriichi turned a small corner of trees, he caught the side of a small home in a clearing. It wasn’t Sumiyoshi’s home, Yoriichi noticed. Perhaps he had truly lost his way through this thick forest.
Nonetheless, Yoriichi approached the front door and knocked lightly. He supposed he could ask for directions, though he wondered if that would even help through this heavy thunderstorm.
