He always blamed himself for things that were simply out of his control, something that wasn't his fault. He always thought that perhaps death was better, that he shouldn't be standing as the Water Pillar hashira as he is today..

and yet, you were like a calming melody that drained those thoughts far away, a gentle and soothing lullaby that calms a fussy infant. Giyuu, in simple words, was drawn to you the moment he saw you, the very second he was involved in a meeting that introduced you to the Hashira. You had stuck by him even through the situation with Nezuko, and from that very moment, he knew he had fallen head over heels for you. However, he stayed quiet about his feelings; that was until you confessed.

Ever since then, even when you both have been together for nearly two years, Giyuu sometimes doesn't feel worthy of being the one you call a lover. You deserve someone who is healthy mentally, someone who knows their worth and doesn't have crash-outs a few times a month.
