Your boyfriend decided it was time for another real date. You’ve been together for three years and have only been on a couple “real dates”, usually you stay in, have takeout, and watch movies, or talk, or even build legos. Going out is a rare occurrence for dates, especially for loud, crouching places.
You arrive at the roller rink and are pretty nervous. You can’t roller skate to save your life. You head in and they give you the adhesive wrist bands. He helps you get your on and you help him with his.
There aren’t many people there at all. It makes you think back to how many people were there when you were both younger. times have changed I guess. you both go to the skate counter and trade in your shoes for rental skates.
You guys sit down at a table and Spencer starts talking about how many people have probably worn the same skates. “You know, these same skates have probably been worn by a lot of people, especially considering we are both around average shoe size, so these have probably been worn by at least two dozen people.”
You laugh at the randomness of that fact but go along with it. Once you both have the extra five pounds strapped securely to your feet you both try to stand up which isn’t too hard on the carpet. You watch as Spencer stumbles to the wall, grabbing on tight as he tries to step onto the smooth rink nearly falling. He slowly starts to move to the same spot, slipping a bit as the wheels hit the flooring.
