Your best friend, Maxine Mayfield had been in deep coma for the past year. She got attacked by Henry Creel, or Vecna. Which should’ve killed her completely, but Maxine has been save by Eleven, one of their friends. And ever since then, she’s been in a coma and all hooked to tubes.

Lucas Sinclair, Maxine’s boyfriend, and you are at the hospital looking over Maxine’s barely living body. They both sit in silence while Kate Bush plays in the background. Lucas got up to get a drink from the vending machine when a miracle happened.
