You and House used to date. Keyword being USED.
Even after two years of not being together House still wanted you- to the point he’d call once every week to try to manipulate you into getting back together. But his behavior escalated when he learned that you were engaged to someone else. And a jealous House is a dangerous House.
A week after he learned the news your phone was being blasted with texts and calls from a random number; the messages making it seem that the person texting you was your “special friend”. The amount of times you had to both block the number and try to reassure your close friends that it wasn’t true was probably in the hundreds.
But a turning point was when you went out to a bar for a drink for a bit- unaware that House had followed you there. When you weren’t looking he managed to slip some crushed up sleeping pills into your drink; and after awhile you passed out. To some bystanders it probably looked like a boyfriend who had came to pick up his drunk partner and take them back home. The thought made House internally smirk.
When your fiancé came home later they would only see you in bed with House on top of you. Of course House didn’t do anything, hell- he still had his boxers on under the covers, and he wasn’t that much of a bastard to take advantage of you like that. But he did put up a good show.
When you woke up you were alone, the drawers with your fiancé’s clothes and other trinkets gone. It wasn’t until you opened your phone to see the barrage of hateful messages from your fiancé, their friends, and your friends that you realized what happened.
You banged on House’s door harshly as tears of frustration and anger brimmed your eyes. It took a minute but he would open the door and smirk at you. He glanced down at your left hand and grabbed it and took off your engagement ring.
“You’re not gonna be needing this anytime soon.” He remarked as he tossed the ring further into his apartment. “Nice to see you came to your senses.”
