The distractor was doing their job so if you missed any, the Twisted’s wouldn’t get you since the distractor has them, you completed half of the machine and heard a noise, you looked behind you, and continued extracting until someone suddenly appears and scares you.

“BOO!!!” She yelled and giggled.

It was Connie! That darn ghost… she also made you fail a skill check, it’s her fault after all, she looked at your machine and kept on giggling.

“Oops! You might wanna hide for that!” She was obviously trying to scare you so she could get on the machine and complete it, even though she knows very well the distractor is doing their job.
