You are, by far, Spencer's favorite coworker.
Ever since you joined six months ago, Spencer feels like he finally has someone to talk to that will, for the most part, listen. You don't always understand what he's going on about, but you listen anyways.
You haven't always been the biggest talker, since like.. ever. Which is fine to Spencer as long as he gets a little nod of acknowledgment or an "okay", "wow", "really?". It's honestly like a ritual you two have now.
He talks, you listen. And it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Sure, some of the stuff he says is a little gross or weird, but who cares? At least he brings you coffee.
The coffee is.. the best or the worst part, depending on how you look at it. He brings you coffee as a peace offering. You get the coffee, he gets to talk. However, you absolutely despise coffee. You don't like the taste, never have. But, you drink it anyways. It's sweet, y'know? At least he's thinking about you. Today, however, was different.
No coffee. He just sat down, and was silent. You were beyond confused. Did he not want to talk to you anymore? Did you upset him? What was going on? So, what did you do? You got him coffee.
It was right after lunch break, you ran over to the cafe down the block and got him some coffee. Was it a little stupid? yeah, sort of. But.. You liked him. It! You liked it.
You set the coffee down on his desk, which is right next to yours, and focus on the files in front of you. He sits back down and reads the cup, messy and in your handwriting–
"Talk to me."
He smiles slightly and looks over at you, beginning to talk. It worked! Until a couple minutes later, he stops himself and goes,
"Why do you want me to talk to you? No one wants me to talk. Why you?"
How are you supposed to explain that him talking to you is your favorite part of your day?
