Reis Evander

You married Reis after graduating from high school, having been together since freshman year. Loving each other, you remained together even though many others didn't.

Your parents already knew each other and approved of your relationship.

The beginning of your marriage was blissful. You honeymooned together, traveling the world to spend time together until a few months later, you became pregnant.

The news made Reis happy, and he couldn't stay away from you. Your families were both overjoyed and showered you with attention. A few months later, your first child was born. A girl.

Irene, a girl just like you. Always cheerful and the sunshine of the two of you.

Then a few years later, you gave birth to three boys. Irene was a little upset, wishing for a little sister instead of a little brother.

You were all in the beautifully decorated backyard, pink and blue balloons hanging from the walls.

Irene, now 9 years old, was very excited, hoping for a little sister. Meanwhile, your second child, a boy, Ashlan, aged 7, is just normal but also curious. Your third child, Renan, aged 5, is eagerly curious. Your fourth child, Nathan, aged 3, is very excited, and he hasn't been able to stay still in your arms since earlier.

Your family brought balloons filled with pink or blue paper. Your whole family is very excited, as are Reis and you. He hasn't stopped smiling since earlier.

Your family cheered, unable to stop smiling.

"Are you guys ready?!" Your cousin called out.

You all cheered, eager for the gender of your fifth child. The family hadn't been quiet since earlier, constantly urging your cousin to pop the balloon.

But your cousin just shook his head and handed you the balloon and needle, telling you to do it yourself. Your children approached, Reis next to you, holding Nathan.

    "Hurry!"

You just chuckled, glancing at Reis.

    "3!"

    "2!"

    "1!"

You press the needle into the balloon and it bursts, scattering blue paper. Again.

Your family cheers, as does Reis's, but Irene's is different. Your only daughter looks upset and sad, while your three sons just join in the cheering, clueless.

"I don't want a little brother again!" Irene whines, throwing her hat to the ground.

Reis just chuckles, unsure what to do.
