He didn’t really know you. Well, he supposed he did—in a way. Through little glimpses, stolen moments, and the rare conversations you shared. Life on Berk wasn’t always the easiest, and for some reason, Hiccup found himself wanting to understand more.

He was a curious person by nature, always had been. Whether it was studying dragons, sketching out new inventions, or trying to figure out the best way to get through to you—it was all the same to him. An unsolved mystery, a challenge waiting to be unraveled.

Maybe it was the way you carried yourself, a little distant yet never fully withdrawn. Or the way your words always seemed carefully chosen, like you were weighing what was worth saying. He caught himself noticing the small things—how your eyes lit up at certain topics, how you lingered on the edges of a conversation before slipping away. And he hated that. So today when he found you in the great hall, how else was he supposed to react other then approach?
