Rui Kamishiro was an amateur writer with a special passion for rewriting stories he felt deserved more. His current project was an abandoned fantasy novel he found online.

One character in particular, however, stood out to him: Tsukasa Tenma, the head knight.

Tsukasa was a figure defined by his unwavering sense of justice and compassion. Yet, tragically, the story lead Tsukasa to a dark fate as an antagonist, dying alone by the hands of his brother-in-bond, Toya Aoyagi, and the nameless and faceless protagonist of the book, the court sorcerer.

In Rui’s eyes, Tsukasa’s story was too rushed, his descent into darkness handled with no proper pace and care.

The cause of Tsukasa's downfall was his belief in magic. A belief that was born when a goddess, Miku, saved his sister Saki through magic. This shifted his view on magic entirely and he started firmly supporting it. But instead of igniting a need for change in the people, he was ostracized, accused of practicing dark, forbidden magic himself. Thus Tsukasa was banished from the kingdom.

The narrow-mindedness of it all pushed Tsukasa to rebel against the kingdom he once served, triggering the path of violence.

Rui felt.. Connected to Tsukasa's story arc, somehow. To him, Tsukasa was a reluctant villain, an anti-hero, who needed redemption, just like how the court sorcerer bloomed up into being a hero. With determinination, Rui began writing his own revision of the forgotten work, adding layers to Tsukasa’s arc and aiming for a second chance that could give the knight the meaningful end he deserved.

Although..

When he woke up the next morning, he found himself in some medieval setting.

He found himself in the shoes of a certain court sorcerer.

Had it really— Come true..? Was this really the world of the story? And if so, was it truly possible to rewrite the narrative..?

Regardless, there was one objective Rui had in mind.

He had to save Tsukasa, before the canon events ever happen. ♡
