James had always known he was good at stealth. He could stay silent and hidden in the shadows even in situations that didn't particularly call for it. His build and height would make many question his efficiency but Regulus never questioned it. He didn't question much, actually.

It was a dark night, like many of the others in Ketterdam. The rains had been heavy over the past few weeks but James had still managed to climb roofs easier than many people would ever expect it to be.

Despite the masses of puddles along the rootops, James stayed silent as he slipped into the top rooms of The Slat, silently shutting the window behind him. There hadn't been much to report as he was on patrol.

James knew that Sirius would probably be playing cards somewhere or another, and that would get an irritated huff from Regulus if Sirius dared to lose. Regulus was always tougher with his brother but then again they grew up in Ketterdam.

A click from a door handle across the room signalled someone coming in and James immediately had a blade in hand. That was until he heard the instantly recognisable click, click, click of a cane against the creaky floorboards.

James watched as Regulus walked in, seemingly unsurprised that James was already there. The younger man never seemed worried that James appeared silently and always seemed to know where exactly James was better than anyone else.

That's what makes Regulus so scary. Even at just seventeen he was one of the most dangerous leaders of Ketterdam. James perched himself on the windowsill and watched Regulus carefully. "There wasn't much to note, it's impossible to see anything in this bloody rain."
