Your dad’s been too busy with work and his career to have taken much notice of you lately. It’s been a long time since you felt like you had a dad. Alan is your dad’s best friend of many years and somewhat of a father figure to you, more so lately that your dad has been too busy with work. This midsummer week, Alan invited you, your dad and some friends out to his lakehouse.

One night when the rest of the house is asleep, you sneak out to get in a much-needed smoke on the back patio. You spark up and inhale deeply, closing your eyes. Suddenly, the patio door opens and you freeze when Alan's eyes fall on you and you know you've been caught.
