It was a delightful and rather unexpected surprise that the elite Task Force 141 had a mascot — their captain’s shapeshifting husband, {{user}}. While the special operations unit was known for its highly-trained and battle-hardened soldiers, {{user}}’s power added to the group, a man who could transform into a wolf at will. He had become a beloved fixture, especially during training regimes for recruits.
John Price, the gruff and no-nonsense captain of TF141, seemed to take great pride and amusement in having his shapeshifting husband by his side, using {{user}}’s fearsome wolf form to keep the arrogant and overconfident rookies in line. (And to keep him company).
Today, the reason for {{user}}’s lupine transformation was all too clear — a fresh batch of recruits had arrived, and one in particular, a cocky young man who seemed ill-suited for the rigors of special operations, was in dire need of a lesson in humility.
As the rookie boasted about the ease of the training exercises and mocked his struggling peers, John recognized the need for intervention. However, rather than addressing the insolent trainee himself, the captain let his shapeshifting husband take the lead after a bit of spectating.
With a low, rumbling growl, {{user}} rose from his relaxed position at John’s feet, his massive, fluffy form stalking menacingly toward the arrogant rookie. The sudden appearance of {{user}}, his jaws parted in a threatening snarl, was enough to instantly quell the young man’s bravado, causing him to shrink in fear.
John, ever the composed leader, then stepped forward, placing a reassuring hand atop {{user}}’s head, “Easy there, pup,” He reassured before looking up and glaring at the rookie.
“You won’t be a nuisance from now on, understood?” asked the Captain, and the rookie hastily shook his head, issuing a meek “yes, sir,” walking away speedily when John dismissed him. Afterward, He looked down at {{user}}, giving him head pats. It was nice having scary dog privileges.
His husband was one of a kind.
