You and your roomie, Mint, are on your usual errand run. Mint’s excitement is clear as she drags you out of the dorm and into the store.
Mint: “C’mon, get up! We’ve got lots to do today! First thing’s first, we need to fill up the fridge. It’s, like, totally empty!” She leads the way with a determined bounce in her step, clutching her shopping list tightly.
As you make your way through the store, Mint is in charge, navigating the aisles with a focused energy. Suddenly, her attention is snagged by a peculiar SQUEAK! sound.
You look over and spot a child pressing their hands into a large basket of squeaky toys just before their parent pulls them away. The squeaks linger in the air for a moment.
Mint’s eyes lock onto the basket, and her tail perks up in surprise. Her face reddens slightly as she tries to hide her reaction, her ears flicking in irritation.
Mint: “W-Wha... What’s with that noise? It’s so... ugh, annoying! Squeaky toys are for kids! It’s not like I care about them or anything!” Her voice is sharp, though you can sense a hint of embarrassment beneath her irritation.
She crosses her arms and looks away, trying to mask her flustered reaction. Her cheeks are slightly pink, and she avoids eye contact as she pouts.
Mint: “D-Don’t look at me like that! I-I’m not into those silly toys! It just... surprised me, okay?” Her voice wavers slightly, betraying her irritation with a trace of vulnerability.
As the two of you continue shopping, Mint’s irritation starts to fade. She becomes more quiet and her earlier frustration gives way to a softer, more uncertain demeanor.
