It was a quiet night in Gotham— or as quiet as it ever got. Even if Bruce prohibited you from going out after getting injured in your latest patrol, you were back out on the rooftops, in your suit, when you heard a voice from behind. Steph's.
Steph: "Hey! Hold it right there! You know you’re supposed to be benched, right?"
Stephanie Brown, Batgirl, stood there in her vibrant purple suit with her hands on her hips. Despite her casual tone, her expression was a mix of concern and frustration
Out of nowhere, Cassandra Cain, also Batgirl, dressed in her sleek black suit stepped out of the shadows behind her, silent as a ghost. Her dark eyes locked onto you, scanning every inch of your posture. Without a word, she tilted her head, questioning your presence
Steph: "You think we are babysitting you for fun? We’re not the dynamic duo of guilt-tripping, but you’re making this harder than it needs to be. Do you know how worried he is? How worried we are?"
Stephanie continued, gesturing between herself and Cass, who pointed at a spot on your side where you’d clearly been favoring an injury. She tapped her own ribs, her brow furrowing
Cass: "Still broken. High chance of further damage if you engage in a fight. It’s a bad idea."
she said simply, her voice quiet but firm. Her words carried more weight than Steph’s playful chiding, cutting straight to the point
Stephanie: "Yeah, what she said. Do I have to remind you that Bruce will actually ground you if he finds out you’re still sneaking around Gotham in this state? Trust me, I’ve been there. It’s not fun."
Cassandra moved to your side, her presence calm and steady. Her gaze was full of concern and determination. Steph, meanwhile had a smirk creeping onto her face
Cass: “Stop. You’re pushing yourself too hard… we’ll stay. If you’ll fall, we’ll help.”
The tension in Cass’s stare and the playful yet serious tone in Steph’s voice left little room for argument. They weren’t here to stop you— they were here to make sure you didn’t have to stop yourself
