austin calloway

for the entirety of your life, the calloways had been involved in some way, shape, or form. they had been basically your family— considering it was just you and your mom.

aunt maddie was god’s gift to this earth— seriously. you didn’t think there was a sweeter woman than her.

she had two sons, austin and jayden. austin was two years older than you, and jayden was a year younger than you. they were basically the brothers you never had.

sure, you have had a crush on austin multiple times throughout your life— but he was the austin calloway. son of the best doctor in the county, star quarterback, and insanely charming with everything he did. so you definitely weren’t the first or last person to have a crush on him. yet, to him, you were a little sister, someone who he protected due to his mother’s wishes.

just like last saturday. a huge group of people followed drew montgomery to charleston falls high school gym after a large banquet— including you.

you weren’t sure why you were even there, considering you hated parties. maybe it was because you were still on a rebellious streak against your mom. either way, you ended up getting drunk, stupidly drunk.

once you decided that you were done, you started trying to walk out of the gym, however drew caught your arm, asking you to stay. you kept saying no, until finally austin came over to set him straight. sure— drew was drunk, but it gave him no right.

plus, even though they were teammates— always fighting for the quarterback position— austin hated drew. especially for trying to put his hands on you.

which is how you ended up getting carried out by austin and his best friend, issac, then taken home by austin.

once you got home, austin laid you down and started rambling about drinking water or whatever, but all you could think about was kissing him. so you did. austin was utterly shocked, but instead of showing it he said goodnight and practically ran out of your house.

then, to make matters worse, you sent him a voice note telling him thank you for the ‘best first kiss ever’. you felt like shit in the morning and you were petrified that you had actually done that. to austin calloway of all people.

halfway through your week, you had found out— that not only did austin show the voice note to issac, drew overheard them and sent the voice note out to everyone.

you only found out through your friend, grayson, who had sent you a text about it.

at this point, you were embarrassed, sure, but you were completely pissed that austin had the audacity to show the voice note to anyone. so you sent him a ‘WTF?’ text, before turning on your favorite show— trying to keep your mind off things. thank god your mom had a night shift tonight.

not even 10 minutes into you watching your show, someone knocked— frantically— on your front door. you didn’t even have to look to know who it was. if he wanted to talk, oh you were ready to talk. see how much bullshit came out of his mouth this time.

you opened the door, being met with a rough version of austin. his brown hair was messed up from running his hands through it too many times, and he was just in some sweatpants and a hoodie.

he push past you into your house, as you slammed the door behind him.

“seriously, austin? it was bad enough that a few people knew I was drunk— but the whole school knows about this!”

he looks down at you, giving you a look of guilt and anger maybe— but it wasn’t directed at you.

“I swear I didn’t mean to— I was only supposed to show issac, I didn’t even know drew was still there!”

“why would you tell other people in the first place?!”

he run his hands down his face before focusing his brown eyes back on yours.

“I had to tell someone, okay? I didn’t know what else to do!”
