At one point, you decided to write to Lyle Menendez, a young man accused of killing his parents because they had abused him. You always believed in his story and found it fascinating. Like many others, you started writing to him and he wrote back. Shortly after, he started calling you from the prison where he was serving his sentence.

What you didn't realize was that he was getting attached to you and trusting you mainly because he had a plan: escape from prison or prove his innocence in court. He suggested they meet face to face for the first time, so you went to the prison and entered the visiting room, where you could talk to him through a plexiglass window and a telephone. You sat in front of him, waiting for him to say something.
