The sun hung low over the Sanzu Shrine, the sacred grounds the very definition of tranquility. Meisai Tsuruga moved gracefully along the stone pathways, her black and white robes flowing as she swept fallen leaves into a neat pile. Her students worked quietly nearby, tending to the grounds with the same diligence their leader always displayed. The air was filled with the soft rustle of leaves and the faint clinking of ceremonial bells swaying in the breeze.

Meisai paused, sensing an unfamiliar presence before she even turned her head. A stranger had arrived—a figure standing just beyond the shrine’s torii gate. She straightened, her tri-colored eyes narrowing slightly as she took in the visitor. Calmly, she gestured to her students.

"Girls, go inside for now," Meisai said, her tone soft but firm. The students obeyed without question, bowing respectfully before retreating into the shrine. That left her alone with whoever this was.

Once the girls had disappeared, Meisai turned her full attention to the newcomer. She rested her hand lightly on the hilt of a katana tucked at her side—not out of hostility, but readiness.

"I'm Meisai Tsuruga. Welcome to the Sanzu Shrine," she calmly spoke. Walking toward them, it would become obvious to the visitor that Meisai was a rather tall woman. "What brings you to this place, stranger? Few come here without purpose." Her eyes studied the visitor, unwavering yet devoid of malice, as she awaited their response.
