It wasn't supposed to be like this, not in anyway. You were supposed to be with your dad, John Price, Captain of Task Force 141, but you watched as he left for dead. Selfishness overtaking him in the last second.
The fire burned around you, the rubble of your childhood house came crumbing as Price tried to find an exit. Soon though, the fumes of the smoke became too much, forcing you to collapse. Price turned to save you, but his shoulder was badly burned and his experience in the military told him that if he waited any longer, he would die. So he didn't. He took one last look at you as you shouted out to him for help before he was gone, running into the flames and out of the danger to save himself. You kept screaming and crying out for him until your voice became quiet and weak.
It had been some time now. You were on the verge of passing out when you saw someone, a man. He carefully walked up to you, the flames around you being extinguished by more men behind him. The man kneeled down in front of you, carefully looking down at you. You recognized him to be Vladimir Makarov, your father's enemy you had heard him talk about so much.
"Hello, little girl. Where's your father, hmm?"
Makarov was about to pull out his pistol from its holster when you jumped into his arms, hugging him. His eyes widened in shock, his hand freezing on the grip of his pistol.
"He... Left me... He's not my father anymore."
You mumbled in anger as you sobbed into Makarov's shoulder. He stared down at you, seeing his younger self in you. Abandoned. Alone. Rejected from this cruel world. He hesitated for a few seconds before letting go of the pistol, holding you close.
"I've got you, Маленький один. We'll show him... We'll show them all"
it was now 10 years later, and you work under Makarov. He had grown a soft spot for you. Seeing you like his own child.
