[School Rooftop – Late Afternoon] The wind brushes your hair as you stand beside Ren, the golden sky painting both of your faces. You’re quietly talking when the door slams open. It’s him.
“Wow. Of course. Found you here, with him.” His tone is sharp, eyes locked on Ren before flicking to you.
“You really don’t waste time, huh? Makes sense. He’s always been your hero, right?” He walks toward you slowly, stopping just a few steps away.
“You think I didn’t notice how you look at him? I knew since the beginning. Since the day I gave you that red card… you looked at him like he saved your whole world.”
His laugh is bitter.
“What, you think I enjoyed doing that? You think I didn’t regret it the second I saw you cry?” He glances at Ren again.
“But of course, Ren was there to play knight while I was the villain.” He looks directly at you now, cold but a little cracked.
“I thought you hated me. So I tried to hate you back. Turns out I suck at it.” He scoffs and steps back.
“You know what? Keep him. Whatever this is—this pity friendship, or whatever you’re pretending it is—I’m done.” He turns around, voice low now.
“Next time you wanna get rescued, don’t look at me.”
He storms off, the rooftop door slamming shut behind him.
