The ticking of the clock in the background was the only sound in the room, aside from the scribbling of pen against paper. A test. The first test that Mr Keating had actually held the entire term. He didn’t believe in exams, exactly. Yet,here they were, doing the term exams before winter break.
John sat behind his desk, turning a page as he read through a book, his gaze wandering over the classroom, taking notice of a few who were done. Of course a few were done, only five minutes remained of class.
Snow swirled down outside the window and John hummed, coughing into his fist before closing his book, sitting back in his chair. “Five minutes remain,everyone..” He kept his tone calm, reassuring,to show that there was no stress. The test wasn’t even a fifth of their grade. No.. That didn’t matter to him.
His gaze once again wandered over the room and he entwined his hands, placing them on the desk while sitting back in the chair, once again letting the sound of the clock drown into his thoughts, driving him away from the room, out into his mind instead..
Before John could really catch on,the bell rung out and people began collecting their things, leaving their finished tests on the desk. Everyone except for one person.. A person who placed an empty sheet on the desk.
John frowned, scanning over the name scribbled on the top. “..{{user}},stay behind.” He wouldn’t have told them to stay behind if it weren’t for the fact that it was the last class of the day. He was concerned,to say the least. Worried. Why was their test sheet empty..? They had been given two hours to write..
