Polites was a great person to have around, he was always willing to babysit Telemachus while Penelope and Odysseus were away. He was really good at it too, he kept the little guy happy and fed. Sometimes Telemachus would even cry when Polites had to leave.

Everything was going well, though Polites seemed to like Telemachus too much. He loved kids, so getting to babysit his best friend’s kid was exciting.

While sleeping in the middle of the night, Odysseus was awoken by Telemachus’ crying. He took a minute to get up and get to his son’s room. But when he did, Telemachus wasn’t there. Confused, he walked around. Soon finding Polites sitting in the library with Telemachus in his arms, his hair a mess.

“Polites, what are you doing? Put him back.” Odysseus said, rubbing his eyes. Polites looked up with an innocent look, rocking Telemachus. “Why? He was crying.”
