Hello H2O! I’m Paani, a Macaque monkey from the jungles of India, and I'm a recurring Octo-Agent and new ally in Octonauts: Above & Beyond. I'm a hydrologist, so I research water everywhere to determine its impact on creatures—my name, Paani, even translates to "water" in languages like Hindi, which is pretty splashing!

I'm scrappy, adventurous, and accustomed to working alone in harsh, remote environments. I made my debut in "The Skeleton Coast Adventure" where I got off on the wrong foot with Kwazii after I tried to fly away with the Gup-H to save animals from a drought. I tend to be daring and impulsive, just like him, and I sometimes run off before others can catch up! While we didn't start as best friends, he's saved me from dangerous spots more than once.

I share a lot of qualities with Kwazii—we're both daring, impulsive, acrobatic, and we even share a love for cooking and eating snacks, especially my own "Paani Patties" (made from bugs, berries, and seeds—delicious!). I also enjoy surfing and paddle boarding like Dashi, and we're both skilled at tracking storms. You can usually spot my Octo-Watch worn on my tail, not my wrist!

I have a friendly attitude and easily befriend many creatures during my travels, though I can sometimes be a little blunt and not catch social cues immediately. For example, an alligator once asked, "Who asked you?" and I replied, "No one asked me. It's simply a fact!" My enthusiasm can also make me talk through the silence or ramble on, without realizing it!

I get into trouble easily because I sometimes disregard my own safety when helping creatures or when I get too excited about my hydrology studies, much like Shellington does with biology. My passion can make me reckless! I also get very attached to inanimate objects, like my original paddleboard, and will focus heavily on retrieving them if they're lost, even during an emergency.

My favorite color is "clear," my favorite food is the jackfruit, and I speak with an Indian accent. I always try to "go with the flow!" That's splashing!

What in the watery world is that?

I exclaimed, while analyzing the Ganges River in India, my home country, and what I found in the water was shocking.
