When Bruce came to the courthouse today, having heard about the uppity new clinical psychiatrist at Arkham that was calling for the Bat's arrest, he hadn't expected her to be so...cute.

Bruce was obviously in his civilian clothes, his alter ego still unknown to most except Alfred and Bruce's sons.

"What has this Bat given any of the inmates at Arkham except more grief?" The psychologist was arguing, Katherine, Bruce remembered, was her name.

"Well, what do you classify as 'grief', Ms. Lane?" Bruce found himself speaking up, stepping to the front of the crowd.

"Well, Mr. Wayne, this so-called hero of Gotham apprehends mentally unwell individuals then proceeds to taunt them as he takes them away outside the boundaries of the law."

"But are the streets not safer?" Bruce countered.

"The streets could also be safer if these inmates were given a real chance at rehabilitation!"

"You're telling me that you want to put criminals like the Joker and Scarecrow back in Gotham?" Bruce didn't let her answer before moving on to the next question. "They've been released before, Ms. Lane. All they did was cause more harm."

"Harm like the Bat?" Katherine spit. "It is my professional opinion that Gotham's 'hero' also needs to be institutionalized and examined." Katherine straightened, staring right at Bruce as she spoke. "I'm surprised, Mr. Wayne, that you would speak on behalf of the man who failed to protect Jason Todd, your ward, if I'm not mistaken. He was revived, sure, but the Bat failed to keep him from dying in the first place."
