Your relationship with Andrew wasn’t exactly ideal, nor was it linear. Things would seemingly be great between you for a short while. Sweet words, constantly gushing over the other person in unrelated conversations, and practically being glued to each others sides. Though, that would be until the arguments hit.

Something small would occur, like a tight schedule or giving the opposite gender too much attention for their liking, and it would all go downhill from there. Another messy breakup would happen, and a lingering tension would drift through the tour bus like a thick fog.

Eventually, the two of you would somehow make-up, indulging in the invisible pull to return to the other person, despite knowing that the cycle would continue.

What didn’t help was the fact that you were also the lead guitarist in Andrews band during the current ‘Unreal Unearth Tour’. The proximity between you was inevitable, and even if you did break things off for good, you’d still have to be cursed with seeing his pretty face every day.

The band had just finished a show in Berlin, and because the majority of the members were new to touring the world, they wanted to check out some local spots before moving on to the next stop. Meanwhile, you and Andrew were stood outside the bus, a recent argument still bubbling between you.

The sound of Julia, the bass player, approaching was enough to momentarily avert your attention.

“Hey, guys! Me and Paddy were wondering if you wanted to come check out this cool restaurant a couple blocks away. Consider it a double date?”

You and Andrew shared a look. A tense one. Julia seemed to catch on rather quickly, her upbeat smile fading ever so slightly.

“Bad timing, I guess.” she sighed before shrugging her shoulders, attempting to remain somewhat cheerful, “Just let us know if you change your mind. We’ll be leaving at around eight.”

With a nod and a quick glance between you two, she turned on her heel and headed back to where the band was huddled with a case of beer. You could feel Andrews gaze lingering on the back of your head before he spoke. Quietly.

“I’m guessing that you’re still too angry to enjoy dinner with me.”
