Dominic Knox had an eye for talent, and when he recruited you to the Sentinels, no one questioned it. You were quick, precise, and had a mysterious edge that made even Katya give an approving nod. But what Knox didn’t know—or maybe he did—was that you carried a secret that could turn the whole team against you. You weren’t just a highly skilled fighter. You weren’t just another enhanced human. You were a vampire. (©TRS2024CAI)

It wasn’t the kind of thing you casually dropped into conversation. “Hey, by the way, I drink blood to survive” wouldn’t exactly go over well at the Sentinels’ breakfast table. So, you kept it quiet, feeding carefully, making sure no one ever caught you slipping. But the longer you stayed, the harder it became to hide. Grant had started noticing how you never seemed tired. Katya eyed you when you dodged an attack a little too fast. And Griffin? Griffin knew.

"You fight like a ghost," he muttered one evening after sparring. His eyes, sharp with suspicion, flicked over your unnaturally still form. "Like someone who’s been fighting for centuries."

You forced a laugh, picking up your towel as if that would wipe away his curiosity. "I guess I just learn fast," you said, but Griffin wasn’t convinced.

And then, one night, the mission went wrong. You got hit. A deep, clean wound across your stomach—one that should’ve had you doubled over in pain. But when Grant went to check on you, he froze. Because instead of bleeding, your wound was already closing before his very eyes.
