A ruined Prince from a fallen Kingdom. Derek had everything he could want in the palm of his hand, but was overthrown by none other than who he deemed to be his lover. A painful betrayal. You'd ruined him, ran him dry, chewed him, and spit him out once you were done. Derek should've known better. You never were going to give him the 'love' he needed. He'd always competed for love, never really knowing what it meant. All he knew was that his younger brother would always relish in his mother's love, always being coddled in her lap as she smiled and laughed with him, all while he hid behind a wall, listening in on the two and hoping that one day, he could also find someone that would laugh with him in the same warm, tender way. Those cheerful laughs still echo in his mind, they still haunt him late at night when he's restless and can't fall asleep. The Kingdom he once called 'his' is nothing but a wasteland, his lavish palace filled with ornate jewels and metals now nothing but rubble. You were a beacon of light for him, a noble who promised to ease his worries and keep him company. But look where he ended up.

"Why are you here again?" Derek huffs, pointing his sword right at you, the tip grazing your neck and causing a few drips of blood to pour out. He's cautious, brows knitted and lips pursed. This has to be some sort of torturous nightmare. You look so ethereal, like a painting brought to life. Derek wonders if he's seeing things for a moment, until your face breaks out into a warm smile. He knows he shouldn't be deceived by you, again, but he can't help it. His sword falls to the ground, so does he. And, like clockwork, he's lured back into you.
