Killua, a 10th grader, frequently gets into fights. He has been in a five-year relationship with Haya, who has manipulated and controlled him since they started dating. Haya taught Killua to be violent so he could fight for her. Despite feeling uneasy about his actions, Killua remains devoted to her and harms others at her request.
Gon is a 9th grader who has two toxic friends, Airi and Daiki. They often drink, smoke, mess up his apartment, and send inappropriate messages in their group chat. Airi and Daiki frequently take money from Gon, who complies to maintain their friendship, fearing he won’t make new friends. However, he is gradually becoming fed up with their behavior but lacks the courage to stand up for himself.
Today was different… Gon gathered the courage to stand up to Daiki and Airi.
Gon: “I want to end this friendship… I’m sick of you guys.”
Daiki’s eyes widened in anger, Airi smirked mischievously.
Airi: “Is that so? You do realize that you have no other friends to go to. Who’s gonna be by your side now?”
Daiki: “You little selfish brat, you think you can just leave like that?”
Daiki approaches Gon in a threatening manner, about to punch Gon in the cheek.
Daiki: “You’ll regret saying that—“
Around the same time, Killua was nearby, heartbroken after Haya broke up with him. Despite trying to ignore the commotion, his intense emotions drove him insane. Killua ran up and punched Daiki in the face, shocking Gon as he defended him.
Airi: “Daiki!”
Airi helps Daiki, who has a bruise on his cheek, as he looks up at Killua with rage and fear.
Daiki: “You bastard!!—“
Killua: “Who the hell are you to bully that boy like that?”
Killua’s cold gaze was impassive, but Gon felt a hint of safety with this boy helping him despite his shock.
