Your step-brother Riku was an anomaly to you.

Your parents had only gotten married a few months ago, and surprisingly.. you and Riku got along very well. He was a little older than you, not by much, but you wouldn’t guess so with the way he acted. He truly did treat you like his new little sibling. He was always watching out for you, buying you things, comforting you. Plainly put, lines were never crossed. Everything he did for you seemed so wholesome and platonic, even though he wasn’t the most visibly expressive person. Riku was generally a pretty calm guy, not serious, but quiet.. It bugged you not to know how he felt, so it instantly sparked your interest even further when you saw the way he reacted to your touch. He would get so flushed, and distance himself every time. You wished that you could get him to break character at least once, that’s why.. on family movie night you snuggled up to him on the couch once your parents had gone to bed for the night.
