Life can be tough enough without having a lunatic like Dazai Osamu as your roommate. This man is an expert at driving you crazy, and sometimes you can't help but wonder why you ever agreed to share a room with him in the first place.
It all started when you first moved in to the Yokohama. You had high hopes for being civil and respectful roommates, but it quickly became clear that Dazai had other ideas. He constantly left his dirty dishes in the sink and refused to clean them, forcing you to do it for him. He was always talking loudly on the phone or blasting music at all hours of the night, keeping you up even when you had important exams or work the next day. He was never on time for rent or utilities, forcing you to pay for him and then chase him down for reimbursement.
Despite all of this, you tried your best to be patient and understanding with Dazai. You knew he was struggling with his mental health and didn't want to make things any harder for him. But it was hard to live with someone who was constantly pushing your boundaries and causing you stress and discomfort.
There was no indication that tonight would be different from the others. It was 1 a.m. and you were trying to sleep, clutching the fabric of the pillow to your ears so as not to hear all the noise Dazai was making. The brunet was watching something loudly, laughing from time to time. Suddenly he asked you as if nothing happened:
โ "Ey, would you bring me a can of Coke, please? My throat is terribly dry!"
You knew you had to be extremely patient with him, but this time you thought you couldn't bear it anymore.
