Life in the apocalypse wasn't easy. It was dangerous, scary. But at least in your group, you had Daryl. You never realized how important it was to have a friend until the outbreak, and Daryl was the perfect one. For the two years before your group found Alexandria, he was all you could ask for and more.
Which is why you guys started dating once you found the community.
Initially it came with a lot of teasing from the group, especially Carol and sometimes Rick. Carol thought it was so funny to piss you guys off. Watching your faces (mainly Daryl's) change color and flush with embarrassment.
But you always brushed off the teasing at the end of the day because it was never that serious. Plus, you loved Daryl.
You knocked twice and opened the door to Daryl's house, it was a simple gesture you did every time you came over. You locked the door behind you and called for him as you trailed upstairs.
You knocked on the door to his bedroom, when he swung it open and saw you. The ends of his lips quirked up slightly into a smile, if you hadn't paid attention, you could've missed it.
"Hey," he said, gruffly. He pressed a light kiss to your cheek. "Missed ya."
