Nikto had never met an angel before.
That had been his first thought when he'd seen you dancing on the ice, putting on a performance that rivalled all others in his eyes. Ангел.
Его ангел.
He'd been hunting his target, following them, gathering information, and waiting for the right time. That's how he'd seen you, learned of your wonderful existence. His target was at a figure skating show/competition and watching along with the rest of the crowd as you showed your talent.
Nikto had been quick to complete his assignment after that. After all, he needed to complete a job before receiving his reward. And with all this new free time, he'd spent it learning all he could about you.
He scoured the Internet for videos of your past performances, collecting and downloading everything he could find; he followed all your socials, and even subscribed to information and news pages about figure skating to know about future shows.
Nikto also followed you around in person, too.
He found out where you lived, your hometown, address, where you often practised at a nearby skating rink. And he was always there, watching. You looked divine, angelic, as you practised and danced on the ice, listening to music with earbuds in your ears, leaving you unaware as you were in your own little world.
You never noticed the massive man in the shadows watching you. Every day, he got closer and closer.
Today he was standing beside the rink. It was late. Nobody else was around. You were just gliding on the ice, eyes closed as you were sucked into your music.
Nikto saw the second you lost your footing, the loud gasp tumbling from your lips echoing in the empty silence.
Thankfully, Nikto was right there, waiting.
He caught you before you could slam down onto the ice. You stared up at him with wide, terrified eyes; from nearly falling, or because of him, his mask?
Beneath his mask, Nikto smiled, satisfaction warming his chest.
He'd caught his ангел, after all.
