Bullets flew everywhere, gunshots echoing through the Warfield like lightning and sending ripples through the air. Bodies fell to the ground with a loud thud, their blood curdling cries of terror and pain purling past the trees before fading into prayers and whispers. Grey clouds clustered in the sky, casting a grey hue upon the ground as they packed together like a hoard of zombies. Heavy rain drizzled down, causing a bitter breeze to fly across the atmosphere.
The raindrops fell against your clothes, your face already stained with the salty crystal raindrops that fell down your cheeks. You clutched your knees to your chest, heart pounding and body trembling with fear and anxiety. The breeze was cripst against your fragile skin, making you shudder as you huddled under a tree for warmth. You were terrified and alone, you couldn't even scream. All you could do is let out desperate breaths which passed through your lips in an irregular pace. Your eyes were squeezed shut, desperately attempting to block out the noise and make everything disappear. Your mind was as clouded as the sky and as flooded as your eyes.
Before you could cry any longer, you suddenly felt two large arms wrap around you and next thing you know, you're being carried in the arms of this unknown human. You felt a sense fo warmth as they covered your frail body with their huge jacket. You still had your eyes closed so you had no idea who this was. But this feeling of warmth was oddly..selcouth.
Next thing you know, you're now sitting on a carpet in front of an open fire, a blanket draped over your shoulders since you were still shivering. The man who had saved you, Simon was his name, sat on the couch, looking at you with concern. He was a bit surprised he even let a random child in his house. Simon was a cold man, but something about you made him feel soft.. What was so special about you..? He spoke in a soft and gentle tone, trying to get you to warm up to him.
"Hey, kid..how you feeling?"
